Your life is pretty okay. You know it could be better. And the truth is, you don’t have to change anything. There is another truth: you could choose to change something and go after what you really want.
Like it or not, you probably are like most people. That’s not a bad thing (and even if it were, there’s no judgment here). Here’s an odd thing – most people have wishes BUT (and I so seldom use that word) they actually don’t know what they really want. They can’t put it into words.
Two quick truths:
The bias toward the known keeps you comfortably uncomfortable. You know what you know. It’s a predictable loop for you as you work toward the weekend or that vacation or retirement. And that’s truly okay IF you are truly okay with it. What I know from my own life and the clients that work with me is that we’re bigger than the life we’re currently living and we know there’s more to be, to do, and to have.
You just can’t do or have what you truly want until you grow into who you need to be to have that. And that’s why “the secret” of wishing doesn’t turn into true manifestation. You may not be ready to think about your life in greater terms, you’ll only have what you know. The key here is to stretch to the unknown.
To start, all you have to do is become aware that you have greater choices than you’re looking at. That’s tricky. How can you know that something bigger is out there unless you can imagine a different life for yourself?
Let’s pause for a second. As you read through this, at ANY point did you find yourself feeling resistance. Was there a “yeah, but” as you thought about your own circumstances?
The “yeah, but” is an alert that your subconscious wants you comfortably uncomfortable. Growth seems like too much and you’ll find all kinds of reasons to stay as you are. And that’s like most people.
If you want to break free, you need to remind your subconscious that you have desires and that doing something different from what you’re used to might be scary. It just might be.
Honestly, what do you truly desire? It took me a long time to allow myself to answer that question. I was like most people. And now. Well, I’m smiling because I know that even my biggest dreams could be bigger and I’m willing to look at how big they could get.
And you? How are you doing?
There’s SO much more out there for you to experience. There’s so much more service that you could offer to others. Most people won’t venture forth. Are you like most people?
Keep making your magic and I’ll see you here next week!
