Values, Vision, and Vitality

Those three words – Values, Vision, and Vitality – have come up a lot, haven’t they?

 

These key stepping-stones are at the foundation of my work with exceptionally high-performing leaders. Without them, you won’t have an effective organization and, dare I say, you will never feel quite fulfilled in your life. 

 

How do you really get that sense of personal and professional well-being? This is about Exponential Success™ and it’s yours to step into.

 

First – 

Recognize that your values have changed over time. They’re supposed to. You’re not who you were. Your organization doesn’t exist in the same era as when it was founded. You’ve changed. The people around you have changed. The world's culture has changed. 

 

So what do you value now?

Where do you see yourself and your organization heading?

What values must you live into in order to attain that big-idea goal?

 

Next – 

Your Vision (yes, I always capitalize that word) directs everything and everyone. It is the filter for what’s in and out of your life. It speaks to the big goals you have and it is based on the values you said you wanted or needed to embody for those big goals.

 

This is hugely important because it doesn’t help you or the organization if you’re the only one clear on what The Vision is. You, your team members, your vendors, your clientele, the community, and beyond all need to know about your Vision. In that way, they can either line up behind you or they can choose not to participate with you. Either way, you’re building an audience that resonates with you.

 

Finally – 

How you embody The Values and The Vision makes all the difference in the world. Do you believe in the words you’ve written? Do you believe the words you’re saying? Let them flow from you authentically and, with an energy that says you care. This is about your Vitality. I often joke with my private clients. What would happen if I sounded like Eeyore (Winnie-The-Pooh’s depressed friend) when I got on the phone with them? Would they know I was still interested in how they were doing and what they had to say?

 

It's up to each one of us to live a life of alignment, to bring the energy that’s needed for each interaction, and in so doing, to lift the lives of those we touch.
